Future Makerspace at Hoffer Farm

Future Makerspace at Hoffer Farm

The Heart of Creativity

A Makerspace is a creative studio space to learn and develop art and craft skills through classes, demonstrations, practice, and collaboration with others.

Phase 2 of The Heart of Community campaign at Hoffer Farm includes plans for a Makerspace to be built next to the Kreider Farms Cultural Center.

Our Vision

We envision four specific studios (and pop-up events that showcase additional crafts/demonstrations):

Pottery Studio at Hoffer Farm

Pottery Studio

Our pottery studio will provide opportunities to hand build or wheel throw pottery and to produce glazed ceramic items.

The studio will offer classes as well as studio time, creating connections across generations as residents and community members work side by side.

Hoffer Farm Art Studio

Art Studio

The art studio will be a bright, inspiring space designed to accommodate multiple artistic practices.

With areas for painting, drawing, printmaking, and mixed media projects, artists of all skill levels will find the tools and space they need to create. Community art shows will provide opportunities to showcase work created in the space.

Textile Arts Studio at the future Makerspace

Textile Arts Studio

In our textile arts studio, traditional crafts meet contemporary expression.

The space will house specialized equipment for various fiber and fabric arts, including spinning, weaving, sewing, and embroidery. Participants can explore the entire process from raw materials to finished pieces, connecting with traditions that span generations while developing skills that promote mindfulness and creativity.

Hoffer Farm Technology Studio

Technology Studio

Our technology studio will bridge the gap between traditional craftsmanship and digital innovation.

Equipped with tools for 3D printers, laser etching, and wide printing, this space will enable projects that combine technology with artistic vision. The studio will support both practical applications and creative exploration, offering workshops that demystify technology and make it accessible to users of all ages and experience levels.
